Teaching experience:

Alice has been tutoring since 2022, working with students aged 8-18 in the UK and internationally. Previous students have won a place to read English at Cambridge, achieved first place in their year’s History examinations at a leading independent school, and earned grades 8–9 in GCSE English. She is fluent in French (C1) after a year living and working in Paris as an au pair, and has delivered enrichment lectures on Shakespeare and Critical Theory to A level students which were broadcast live and recorded. She particularly enjoys helping students see how ideas connect across texts and time, and keeps parents closely informed of progress and goals.

Extra-curricular interests

A keen cinephile, Alice runs a community cinema club, and can often be found reading a book while she checks tickets at The Nickel Cinema, where she also curates screenings. She keeps her French sharp by watching nouvelle vague films, and is developing an interest in book-to-screen adaptation. She is a keen, though not entirely proficient, practitioner of yoga. Though her literary taste tends towards the surreal, her lesson plans are reassuringly structured.
