Fonie is a journalist and writer; she spends all her time either writing or discovering things to write about. Most of her social life entails attending or participating in literary readings or launches. She is always reading upwards of five books, making them compete for her attention (her track record for completion is wanting). She also loves reading longform articles, as well as new literary and art magazines, exposing her to emerging talent.

Within a strong lyrical as well as literary ability Emmeline is also a working musician, having most recently signed to indie hip-hop label Lewis Recordings, opened-up for The Streets on tour, and played the global emerging music festival SXW in Austin, Texas.
