Teaching experience:

Felicity is an experienced tutor specialising in History, Religious Studies, and Mathematics. She has worked with students across a range of academic levels and has helped 10+ students achieve A-A* grades at A-Level, with students subsequently receiving offers from leading UK universities including Durham University, the LSE, and the University of Cambridge.

Felicity enjoys working with students who are ambitious to achieve highly, whilst also taking a great satisfaction in helping students to build confidence. She takes a highly personalised approach to tuition, adapting her teaching style to the needs of each student. A key focus of Felicity’s teaching is equipping students with the skills and confidence to become increasingly independent learners. Rather than simply helping students to complete the work immediately in front of them, she works to provide them with a robust set of academic tools which they can continue to use long after their tutoring sessions have finished. These include structured approaches to revision, essay-plan mapping, effective methods for approaching past-paper questions, and techniques for developing clear, well-evidenced and sophisticated arguments.

Felicity is particularly attentive to the demands of essay-based subjects, helping students to understand not only the content required by their courses but also how to construct an effective argument and respond precisely to the wording of the question. She has extensive experience examining mock essay questions and providing actionable feedback for her students.

Alongside her strengths in essay-based subjects, Felicity has a strong academic background in Mathematics, having achieved 100% in her A-Level Mechanics paper and 80 in the LSE Introduction to Accounting Paper. She particularly enjoys helping students to break down complex problems into clear, manageable steps, developing a secure understanding of the underlying concepts. She works with students to identify gaps in their understanding, build confidence with unfamiliar problems, and develop a systematic approach to tackling examination questions.

She enjoyed combining her competitive spirit with the leadership and teamwork required to support her teammates and achieve success throughout the season.
