Teaching Experience

Gisele has experience teaching in a variety of academic contexts. She began tutoring in 2019, teaching English as an additional language to primary school children. She has tutored for the 11+ entrance exams and taught specialist classes on Shakespeare to GCSE students. 

Gisele has taught in a specialist SEN provision for children with autism. She provides holistic academic support to children with various learning needs. Gisele has experience creating positive behaviour support plans, using research-based interventions for autism and ADHD and teaching phonics. She spent time teaching a class in a Pupil Referral Unit, where she continued to develop a calm and resolute approach to teaching. Gisele designed and delivered curriculum for maths and English. She delivered specialist interventions for social, emotional and mental health and speech and language therapy. 

Gisele brings her sensitive knowledge of child development to her teaching practice. Her studies at the Tavistock Clinic have informed and developed her thoughtful approach to pedagogy.

Extra-Curricular Interests 

Gisele is a poet and has reviewed poetry for Tears in the Fence. She hosts a psychoanalytic reading group for professionals working in the criminal justice system. Gisele has also volunteered for the Wren Project, offering mental health support to people with auto-immune disorders.
