Teaching experience
She began tutoring privately while at university, working with students preparing for competitive school and university entrance. Since then, she has spent four years delivering expert one-to-one tuition to students aged 7 to 18, helping them to discover joy and confidence in language, logic, and learning more broadly. Warm, intellectually curious, and unfailingly encouraging, Hatty is committed to helping her students not only excel in exams, but also develop their confidence, precision, and independent thinking.

UCAS Linguistics Personal Statement Support
Hatty was diagnosed with ADHD early in life and is proud to bring that perspective to her teaching. She has extensive experience supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and warmly welcomes enquiries for SEND tuition across all her subjects.
Extra-curricular interests
Hatty has a deep and enduring love of literature, especially comic, and is happiest with a Wodehouse or Mitford novel in hand (ideally with a glass of wine in the other). She writes and reads poetry, and is an enthusiastic cryptic crossword solver and setter. Her fascination with the history of words has led to a long-standing passion for classical and Germanic etymology and linguistics.
Outside the world of tutoring, Hatty runs a start-up designing protective headgear for cyclists, cooks with flair (and the occasional fire), paints in oil, plays a range of team sports, and travels solo whenever she can. Hatty speaks conversational French and spends most summers in the South of France. She also has a lively interest in wine, religion and philosophy, and hosts dinner parties with the same energy she brings to the classroom - spirited, thoughtful, and full of good conversation.
Availability
Hatty is available for in-person tuition in London as well as online tuition.
