Outside the laboratory and classroom, Meghna is a dedicated volunteer. She spent three weeks in India volunteering at an open centre for CINI, set up for vulnerable young girls, primarily children of sex-workers, living in the slums of Calcutta. She taught English and Arts while providing pastoral care as a genuine friend, learned about their lives, and encouraged them to pursue an education. Upon returning to the UK, she raised £1000 for the work of CINI at their open centres.
