Tutoring
Most of William’s teaching has been devoted to adults seeking language certificates, most commonly the Goethe B2, though he has also provided specialist GCSE and A-Level guidance to students of German and History. He prides himself on his patience and enjoys teaching students of all levels and abilities. He has also provided Q&As on Oxbridge admissions, including on the specifics of college and subject selection.
William, despite not having any German blood, boasts C2 level German. His competency is indistinguishable from that of native speakers. He scored 98% on the Oxford MLAT in 2022 and has received top marks in all his exams from GCSE to Oxford University Prelims, after which he was offered an Academic Scholarship, proving himself as capable in essay writing as in mastering grammar.

William is a keen cricketer and was Oxford University’s leading wicket-taker in 2024. Currently living in Germany, he has been documenting his experiences in the Cricket Bundesliga in a series of articles for the Lobster Magazine. He also loves Opera and is a card-carrying member of the British Wagner society.
A devoted long-distance cyclist, William has toured the UK and Europe on his beloved ‘Brynnhilde’, or ‘Brynnie’ for short (named after Wagner’s Brünnhilde, of course). Beyond this, William writes insatiably and has recently had an audiobook version of his Good Friday poem ‘Conqueror’ recorded by actor, Vincenzo Nicoli. He is currently collaborating with composer Derek Williams to set this work to music.
